Panel appearance at Ecommerce Scotland Conference

Great day yesterday at the Ecommerce Scotland Conference at the IMAX, Glasgow Science Centre. Around 350 people were in attendance, mostly heads of ecommerce and digital marketing from Scottish businesses, and the conversation was genuinely interesting.

As a non-expert in the field, it reinforced two things for me.

There's a critical role for storytelling and brand in the world of AI and LLMs. Good news for brand marketers. And there's a thriving community of e-commerce experts in Scotland and further afield already making serious progress, or right on the cusp of something big. It's a very exciting time to be working in marketing.

I was delighted to be part of a panel talking about the importance of brand in the age of AI, expertly chaired by Ann-Maree Morrison MBE and joined by Kieran Healey-Ryder from Whyte & Mackay and Laura MacDonald from Weber Shandwick. A genuinely interesting conversation with fantastic people.

Thanks to Kieran for the invitation, and to Dr. John McSloy, Laura Blair, and the rest of the INDEZ team for putting on a great event. Thanks also to Mark Hutton for the photos.

If the brand identity question is one you're sitting with, it's something I spend a lot of time on.
